Yes, I know I’ve featured both of these Scandinavian singers before in separate posts.

Um, and?

They deserve all the kudos they get. As mentioned earlier Björk possesses one of the greatest ever voices in pop music (NPR calls it “celestial” even), and Robyn is no slouch on the mike either. There’s a unique clarity of tone as well. Recently the Swede covered the Icelandic’s hit “Hyperballad” in honor of Björk receiving the 2010 Polar Music Prize (along with master composer Ennio Morricone).

As the good folks at SUNfiltered have noted, covering Björk is a tricky feat. It takes a special vocal talent to match her grace, emotion and authority. Robyn passes the grade, coming through with a gorgeous rendition of that song from 1995’s “Post” album in the following video. But that’s not all.

Norway’s amazing Ane Brun offers a chilling version of “Jóga” and experimental Swedish husband and wife team, Wildbirds & Peacedrums do sublime justice to “Human Behavior.” Enjoy.
