The better news is they’re hoofing it around the country to promote the new music and play a few older favorites like “My Step” from 2009’s Machine Dreams album. With the help of director Matthew Scheuerer, the song’s video (see below) is a novel take on feeling like a puppet in this crazy, cruel world. Actually using mini-marionettes (strings attached) to drive home the point, the clip is a sly endorsement of the need to break up the monotony of one’s everyday slog with some spirit-rejuvenating, happy dancing around a bonfire.
The best news is that I’ll get a chance to take them up on their suggestion (sans bonfire) when they come to NYC this and next week. Their third show (1-24) in the Big Apple, which is at the Bowery Ballroom, should be a good ol’ time. And the dapper Theophilus London, who recently got some GQ magazine-love, will be opening up for the group. Get on-board with his cool kid rap steez.
If you can’t make the city shows, catch Little Dragon on tour somewhere. See dates below.
