They accompanied the track with an sun-saturated, dreamy video shot mostly along some European waterway. It perfectly captured the ethereal vibe they managed to conjure from the stripped down, cool-out track and Coco’s sweet vocals. Plus, the clip had MJ archival footage in it too. This time though, Coco belts out Lauryn Hill‘s “Ex-Factor” (from her 1998 CD, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill). It’s the best example of a hip-hop soul break-up song that’s guaranteed to have you tearing up and trying to swallow that lump in your throat. That is, if you’ve ever been in love.
The acoustics in this video’s outdoor courtyard are perfectly suited to Coco’s tender take on the classic.
Watch and listen below, and I dare you not to feel something.
